Moa Eggs...
This weekend, or perhaps a few days before this weekend, Moa Eggs came into existence. Since then, people have farmed them, and tried in various ways to get the egg to do "something." It is common knowledge that eggs hatch. My hunch, and that of many others, is that the Moa Eggs will hatch into something.
To get your Moa Egg, simply head South out of post-searing Fort Ranik. Eventually you will come across a large amount of Moas wandering around 4 Moa Nests. Clicking on the nest furthest to the east will open up a small dialog, and automatically place one Moa Egg in your inventory.
For maps of where exactly to go, refer to the Moa Egg article on www.guildwiki.org. Its address is http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Moa_Egg
Now that you have an egg, you will probably wonder what to do with it. Nobody is quite sure what these Moa Eggs do, but it would seem likely that they will do something. They do not appear to be quest items, because there is a lack of the label "Quest Item" below their name. At some point, someone tried clicking on the "Mourning Veil Falls," label in Echovald Forest. This changes the Moa Egg into a Hardened Moa Egg. Furthermore, it has been discovered that there is a trader in Elona, in Resplendent Makuun, who will give you "Nesting Material" for 5 Skree Wings.
It seems to me that there is too much going on with these Moa Eggs for them to not have any value. Personally, I think that they will hatch into minipet Moas. This image seems to support that theory, because it is allegedly a screenshot of a Dev standing next to a minipet moa during a press release.
What are your thoughts on the Moa Eggs?

whatever it is i find it kind of odd because if you dont have proph you cant get it so far but then again if it is something it will become so common you would not be able to sell it for more the 2k

Might very well be a mini moa, as a reward for people with all three campaigns?

best theory yet. if you need "nesting material" from Elona, the Egg from tyria, hardening it in Cantha....volcanic rock from Perdition rock to heat it? What else is necessary?

I think it's obvious that since you need all three chapters in order to complete this thing Arenanet is just giving us a thank you to all who purchased all the chapters. I'd say minipet moa is a good guess. No big deal though, these things won't have much value.

Hmm... wonder if those eggs are not related to Polymok minigame... think I heard somewhere that it was like a pokemon game on steroid...
Maybe we will have to raise them and make them fight in polymock arena? O.o

Take the egg into Morning Viel Falls, there is an area to turn it into a Hardened Moa Egg

Interesting...
On the dev picture there is a black moa pet. Has anyone tried to drop the hardened egg and the nest next to the Moa ranger pet?

Question being.... why do you need to harden them though? Do we need to make a stone mini moa chesspiece?
Go out of town. Drop the Volcanic Rock. Drop the nesting stuff on top of that. Drop an egg on all of that. And /sit on it and afk on it for 48 hours. And voila?

Possibly the egg needs to be hardened so the moa cannot hatch out of it and is forced to remain small?
I just hope golden pants won't be involved...

I am all excited about it.
The Theory with the three chapters makes sense so far ... but I would like to add GW Eye of the North to it.
Which would mean:
- Prophecies: Egg
- Factions: Harden it (this doesn't make sense to me, but hey...)
- Elona: Nest
- EotN: ???
Hahaha, I will soooo mass produce Mini Moa's the whole day to fill up my Hall of Monuments with Pig's and Moa's
Cheers,
Timebandit

Anyone found a way to farm skree's for wings? Tried to kill them with E/A, E/Me or E/D, even with a bonder to lower damage. But the interrupts are killing me. I could kill two with a build I use to solo Tombs (Earth Magic + Shadow Form), but got only 1 wing for a half hour...

OR, being more reallistic and less cruel, since the black moa grew up in echovald, i could imagine the whole 'forest infusion' (hardening of the egg) process will dictate whether the egg will hatch into a Black Moa. This would give more options if say this was how a moa minipet will be created, or just a baby moa in general.

So if we don't harden can we have Mini-Moas?
If we harden we get Mini-Black-Moas
and in EotN we get mini-white-Moas
That would be great

I don't get "hardening." When you "harden" an egg, you cook it. How will that help it hatch?
